Malahide is a small town located 16 kilometers north of Dublin city. It has approximately 25,000 inhabitants and is one of the wealthiest suburban towns in Dublin, with an excellent marina. It is where you will find Malahide Castle and its gardens, formerly owned by Lord Talbot of Malahide.
The village grew in popularity in Georigian times as a seaside destination for the wealthy inhabitants of the city of Dublin. This is evident from the collection of Georgian houses in the village along the coast.
